As a Defence Security Officer, you will help safeguard Australia's national security. We offer full-time positions with flexible rosters, including 4/4 off, day-only, DIDO, and family-friendly options. Relieving Officer roles are also available, with additional allowance of up to $2500 giving you flexibility, change of environment and permanent hours.
With the Defence Industry expanding rapidly in South Australia, Wilson Security is seeking Defence Security Officers to support our Base Security Services operations across the region.
This is a unique opportunity for those with a background in ADF, security, policing, correctional institutions or customer service to transition into a dynamic and rewarding role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Physical Access Control Duties
- Providing strong Customer Service solutions to visitors, contractors & client
- Gatehouse duties
- Proactively monitoring CCTV and Access Control Systems
- Conducting building patrols to actively report and mitigate security & safety risk
- Identifying and reporting hazards and building faults for rectification
- Providing support to local Units and Facilities
- Dedicated Monitoring centre and Emergency Coordination duties
- Responding to emergency situations
- Contractor escort management duties
- Ad-hoc duties
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Are available to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, on a 24/7 rotating roster (e.g., 4/4: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off). Other roster options, such as a 7-on, 7-off DIDO (Drive-In, Drive-Out) schedule from Adelaide, are also available.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills and take pride in their professional presentation and demeanor.
- Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Demonstrate strong lateral thinking and problem-solving abilities, effectively addressing issues as they arise.
- Understand and respect the chain of command, ensuring proper escalation processes are followed.
- Are capable of producing detailed, factual reports on security incidents and HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) hazards, whether in electronic or paper format.
- Possess solid foundational IT skills and are comfortable using a variety of software platforms.
DESIRABLE:
- Hold a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Clearance.
- ADF veterans are highly encouraged to apply, with clearance transfers from other Commonwealth agencies supported
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST be an Australian Citizen
- Current Valid SA Security Licence
- A current and valid SA Driver's Licence
- A current First Aid Certificate
