Join FIRST Security, New Zealand’s market leader in protective security, and be part of one of Christchurch’s and the South Island’s most exciting events — the V8 Supercars weekend.

We are recruiting for Event Security Guards across a wide range of functions to support with the V8 Supercars event running Friday 17th to Sunday 19th April, with additional guarding shifts available during the event week.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an event that is a South Island first, and you will be part of a professional security team delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. You must be a confident and clear communicator and be comfortable standing and moving for long periods of time.

Event Details

Main Event Dates: Friday 17th – Sunday 19th April
Additional shifts: Available throughout the week leading up to the event – day and night shifts.

Shift Lengths: 7–12 hours per day
Primary Event Shift Times: 0700–1800

What We’re Looking For

• Hold a Blue or Green Certificate of Approval (COA)
• Previous event security experience preferred
• Hospitality or retail experience welcomed
• Confident communicator with a professional presentation
• Ability to remain calm and customer-focused in high-energy environments

Minimum Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Clean, full Class 1 driver’s licence
• Flexible availability across event dates
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• NZ or Australian citizen, or hold a valid NZ Work Visa
