We are seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to join our Christchurch team. This role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance experience who enjoys being out in the field, solving problems, and ensuring facilities are safe, compliant, and well-presented.

This is predominantly a field-based role (approximately 70% field-based and 30% office-based). We are not looking for extensive management experience — instead, we’re seeking someone with the right attitude who is ready to take the next step in their career.

 

About the Role

 

As Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of parking facilities across Christchurch. You’ll ensure that sites under your management remain safe, compliant, well-presented and customer-ready at all times.

This role blends hands-on technical capability with coordination, planning, and administrative responsibilities. You will be confident rolling up your sleeves when required, whilst also managing contractors, tracking budgets, maintaining records, and contributing to operational improvements across the region.

This is a full-time position (40hrs) working Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 7:00pm.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site insp
  • ections to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and well-presented
  • Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks where appropriate
  • Coordinate and manage external contractors, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost control
  • Support and monitor Health & Safety compliance across all allocated sites
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues, incidents, or customer concerns
  • Assist with budget oversight, expense tracking, and efficiency improvements
  • Operate sites within approved budgets and identify revenue optimisation opportunities
  • Liaise closely with the Operations Team Leader regarding site condition, performance, and priorities

 

 

About You

 

You’re practical, solutions-focused, and confident both on the tools and in the office. You take pride in your work and understand the impact you have on the customer experience and operational performance.

 

You will bring:

  • Hands-on maintenance and/or facilities experience
  • A strong practical mindset with the ability to problem-solve independently
  • Confidence managing contractors and service providers
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, reporting systems) or willingness to develop
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence

 

Experience in property or facilities maintenance, building services, trade support, maintenance coordination, or parking operations will be highly regarded.
