Employee Relations Business Partner 

About the role:

 

Join our Workplace Relations team at the Wilson Group! This role supports the delivery of best-practice employee and industrial relations strategies aligned with our business goals. 

 

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive ER/IR initiatives. 
  • Provide expert advice on workplace grievances, performance management, and industrial matters. 
  • Conduct investigations, support enterprise bargaining, and manage complex cases. 
  • Deliver end-to-end ER/IR solutions for Wilson Security in Victoria, Tasmania, and beyond. 

 

Be a pivotal part of fostering strong employee relations across the Wilson Group. 

 

Key Duties include: 

 

  • Provide accurate, practical, and timely advice on employee relations, including compliance, strategy, and risk management related to modern Awards, legislation, and policy interpretation. 
  • Conduct comprehensive, well-documented internal investigations. 
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support leaders in performance improvement, feedback, and dispute resolution. 
  • Design and deliver training programs and workshops. 
  • Support the development and implementation of best-practice industrial relations strategies. 
  • Review and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industrial obligations and alignment with best practices. 

 

About You:

 

You are a passionate workplace relations professional with: 

  • 2+ years’ ER/IR experience in a complex, multi-site environment, or an HR Business Partner seeking to deepen their expertise in employee relations. 

 

Proven experience in: 

  • Managing employee grievances and disciplinary issues. 
  • Supporting complex investigations and disciplinary processes. 
  • Interpreting and advising on industrial instruments such as awards, enterprise agreements, and employment contracts. 
  • Collaborating pragmatically with operational leaders, senior management, payroll, health and safety teams, and the broader HR function. 
  • Navigating organizational change and change management processes. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach and a commitment to task completion. 
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong numerical aptitude and accurate data entry capabilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level. 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in Law, Employee/Industrial Relations, Business, or Human Resources Management is preferred.
