We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join the Wilson Storage business. Wilson Storage offers secure self-storage, business hubs, packaging, office, and training space solutions throughout Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania. Our exceptional customer service and state-of-the-art facilities distinguish us in the industry.

 

Partnering with senior leaders, providing in-depth financial analysis, strategic insights, and comprehensive financial support, you will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, identifying emerging trends, and turning data-driven insights into actionable opportunities that drive real business value.

 

Leading a team of two, you will foster a culture of growth and mentorship, elevating financial capabilities across the business. Your oversight of Power BI reporting, month-end results, general ledger (GL) management, and executive reporting will be crucial. You will also take ownership of the Annual Budget and quarterly forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth plan and strategic goals.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & Business Partnering:

 

  • Develop strong relationships with senior leaders, acting as a trusted financial partner.
  • Drive strategic financial conversations and challenge conventional thinking.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that shape business decisions.
  • Deliver meaningful financial reporting and performance analysis to optimize outcomes.

 

Strategic Planning & Performance Management:

 

  • Lead the Annual Budget and Forecasting cycles with precision and business alignment.
  • Provide financial analysis and commentary, identifying key risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop cost forecasts and drive financial accountability.
  • Present high-quality financial reports to support executive decision-making.

 

Financial Management & Governance:

 

  • Oversee the P&L and Balance Sheet for the business, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Manage month-end close processes efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain effective cost allocation methodologies for accurate financial reporting.
  • Partner with the Corporate Accounting team to uphold financial compliance and best practices.
  • Timely delivery of financial reports to the business and external stakeholders.

 

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

 

  • Lead financial process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and data.
  • Enhance financial reporting, analytics, and decision-making tools.
  • Promote financial literacy across the business, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Drive change management initiatives, ensuring agility in financial operations.

Who We Are Looking For

 

  • CA/CPA qualification (Beneficial) with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in business partnering or a commercial finance role within a fast-paced organization.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost management expertise.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial advice and commercial insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence decisions.
  • Proven leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with ERP/CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics (Finance & Operations).
  • Power BI reporting experience is essential.
  • A natural curiosity and commercial acumen, connecting business objectives to financial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to present insights to senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving and business case analysis skills to assess project costs and benefits.
