The Learning and Development Business Partner plays a key role in shaping and delivering innovative learning strategies and programs that align with the broader Group People strategy. This role is responsible for building capability, developing talent, ensuring compliance, and optimising the Learning Management System (LMS) to support a high-performance culture.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learning Strategy and Program Development
- Design and implement learning strategies aligned with business goals and capability needs
- Develop training frameworks for leadership, technical, and operational competencies
- Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and deliver effective programs
LMS Ownership and Optimisation
- Administer and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Manage content uploads, enhance user experience, and coordinate updates with IT and vendors
- Monitor and report on LMS usage, training completion, and compliance
Program Delivery and Evaluation
- Develop and deliver blended learning solutions (eLearning, virtual, in-person)
- Create or source engaging training content aligned with adult learning principles
- Evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve learning offerings
Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership
- Partner with HR and business leaders to support L&D priorities
- Coach and support internal facilitators, trainers, and L&D team members
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives such as induction, compliance, and change training
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure training supports legal, regulatory, and industry compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting
ABOUT YOU:
- Proven HR leadership experience in a multi-site, national business
- Strong background in designing and implementing learning solutions across complex, multi-business environments
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design
- Familiarity with competency frameworks, career pathways, and capability models
- Project and change management skills, with experience delivering end-to-end learning initiatives
- Experience in developing and rolling out HR initiatives (highly regarded)
- Effective stakeholder manager—confident working with leaders, SMEs, and external vendors
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- 5–8 years’ experience in Learning & Development or Organisational Development
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field, with additional certification in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or Adult Learning Principles.
