The Business Project Manager drives the planning, execution, and delivery of Wilson Security’s project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals. Working within the Project and Transformation Team, this role leads end-to-end project delivery — from scoping and governance to procurement, stakeholder engagement, and implementation — ensuring projects deliver measurable value, on time and within budget. Partnering with the Senior Business Analyst, the Business Project Manager helps enhance Wilson Security’s project delivery capability through a pragmatic, results-focused approach.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Delivery
- Lead end-to-end management of business and operational projects, delivering on scope, time, cost, and quality targets.
- Define project objectives, success measures, milestones, and governance.
- Oversee project documentation, progress tracking, and structured risk management.
- Ensure seamless handover of completed projects into business-as-usual operations.
Stakeholder and Communication Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, executive sponsors, and external partners.
- Drive alignment and communication across departments and project teams.
- Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and key decision-making forums.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for varied audiences.
Procurement, EOI, and Tender Management
- Manage procurement processes, including EOI, RFT, and vendor selection.
- Work with Legal, Risk, and Finance to ensure compliance and probity.
- Develop evaluation frameworks and coordinate assessment and recommendation processes.
- Oversee contract execution, onboarding, and vendor performance.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance
- Ensure all projects meet governance, reporting, and compliance standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
Financial and Resource Management
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
- Track financial performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Support benefit realisation and ensure measurable value delivery.
- Allocate and manage resources for optimal utilisation and performance.
Change and Transition Management
- Lead change, communication, and training activities to drive adoption of project outcomes.
- Partner with business units to ensure operational readiness and smooth transition.
- Monitor implementation impacts and apply corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through feedback and evaluation.
Continuous Improvement and Methodology Development
- Enhance project management frameworks, templates, and reporting processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen efficiency and governance.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Skills and Experience
- 5–7 years’ experience managing cross-functional business, operational, or transformation projects end-to-end.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, or Waterfall).
- Proven ability to align project outcomes with strategic goals, delivering measurable value and operational efficiency.
- Experienced in procurement, tendering, and contract management, including EOIs, RFTs, and vendor oversight.
- Skilled in developing business cases, project plans, and executive reports for diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative approach.
- Sound financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and benefit realisation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability in fast-paced environments.
- Committed to continuous improvement and enhancement of project governance and delivery practices.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Management, or related field.
- Recognised project management certification (PRINCE2, PMBOK, or AgilePM) is highly regarded.
- Procurement or contract management accreditation (e.g. CIPS Level 4, Advanced Diploma) desirable.
- Change Management certification (e.g. Prosci or equivalent) is advantageous.
