Join Wilson Group as a Senior Systems Engineer and play a key role in delivering robust and scalable infrastructure solutions across the business. In this critical position, you’ll support GBS customers, lead infrastructure projects from planning through to implementation, and act as a technical escalation point for complex issues. With a strong focus on system integration, design, and continuous improvement, you’ll contribute to enhancing existing systems while driving innovation through strategic infrastructure changes.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Technical Solutions & Project Delivery


• Develop business cases and detailed project plans
• Lead end-to-end project delivery, including tracking milestones and status reporting
• Conduct project reviews and prepare progress and performance reports
• Adapt project workstreams as needed to meet changing requirements
• Participate in the tender process – including design, submission, and evaluation
• Transition completed projects to operational teams for ongoing support

 

Infrastructure Project Delivery


• Lead network upgrades, redesigns, and infrastructure migrations (cloud and on-premises)
• Implement unified communications and contact centre solutions
• Support office relocations and new retail site setups
• Replace legacy systems with modern, scalable solutions
• Enhance backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity systems
• Deliver cybersecurity improvements as part of infrastructure enhancements

 

Information & Cyber Security


• Support the Information Security Lead in protecting systems from cyber threats
• Participate in cyber reviews for all new systems and technology solutions
• Assist in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities across the environment
• Help maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems

 

 

 

About You

 

Knowledge & Experience


• Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects and improvements
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills (technical and non-technical)
• Background in customer-focused environments (internal or external)
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and respond to business urgency
• Works independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team
• Skilled in managing technical escalations and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Provides subject matter expertise and guidance to support teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Confident communicator across all levels of the business and external partners

 

Qualifications


• Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Microsoft MCSE
• Cisco CCNP
• VMware VCP
• Microsoft Azure – Associate or Expert level certification
