Reporting to the Workplace Relations Counsel, this role supports Wilson Parking, Wilson Health (Medic One), Wilson Security (National), and other Wilson Group businesses in delivering expert advice and case management across all employee and industrial relations matters. You’ll lead workplace investigations, manage grievances, support performance and misconduct matters, and help develop ER/IR strategies aligned with the Group’s broader People and Strategy objectives. As a key member of the Workplace Relations legal team, you’ll also contribute to legal advice, policy development, contract reviews, payroll audits, and staff training.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide specialist, practical advice on a range of workplace relations matters.
- Manage end-to-end casework, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and investigations.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure timely, professional resolution of issues.
- Advise leaders on policies, employment risks, entitlements, and compliance matters.
- Deliver proactive training to upskill People Leaders in ER/IR processes.
- Support the development and implementation of best practice ER/IR strategies.
- Oversee day-to-day compliance activities and initiatives.
- Review and maintain templates, policies, and procedures for legal compliance.
- Represent the business in matters before the Fair Work Commission and liaise with external counsel.
ABOUT YOU:
- Qualified employment lawyer with 1+ years’ experience (private practice or in-house)
- Skilled in interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and employment contracts
- Experienced in managing grievances, disciplinary matters, and complex investigations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational and time management abilities
- Customer-focused with the ability to follow tasks through to completion
- Confident with numerical data and accurate data entry
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Qualifications
- A current Australian practising certificate is highly desirable.
