ASSISTANT CONTRACT MANAGER
This position assumes functional responsibility and full accountability for supporting the Contract Manager – Rio Tinto in managing the performance of all Rio Tinto designated sites within Wilson FIFO Security portfolio. This position also oversees the day-to-day operations of the operations coordinators team.
THE ROLE
- Provide coverage for contract manager / operations coordinators when required
- Oversee day-to-day management of coordinators team (incl. ongoing training and performance reviews)
- Complete admin duties for contract manager to allow for more frequent site visits
- Weekly / monthly / quarterly meeting prep
- Gathering evidence and preparing for HR related meetings (as required)
- Recruitment
- New Officer inductions
- Review and update SOPs as required.
- Complete admin duties currently being completed by Coordinators to allow for prioritization of urgent tasks
- Weekly / Monthly Hours reports
- Order uniform as required in a cost-effective manner ensuring that the monthly budget is not exceeded

- Monitor Rio qualification requirements remain current (CHF renewals, Rio Essentials etc)
- Arrange and coordinate induction training for new and existing employees
- Prepare and process documentation accurately, on time and in accordance with the Quality System
- Provide quality customer service to Rio Tinto clients
- Travell and visit the Rio Tinto contract sites when required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Right to work in Australia
- Security Licence (WA) with Crowd Control
- Unrestricted C Class Drivers Licence
- Ability to obtain any or all the following clearances:
- MSIC (maritime clearance)
- ASIC (airport clearance)
- Responsible service of alcohol
- Working with Children
Australian Government Clearances (i.e. baseline, NV1)
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We seek a dedicated and experienced security professional with:
- Ideally 2+ years of security leadership experience managing large teams in high-profile, high-security environments.
- A high level of Security Awareness
- Understanding of working culture and operational requirements
- Proficiency in Access Control, CCTV Operations, Patrolling, and Incident Response.
- Strong knowledge of and the ability to interpret the Security Services Industry Award 2020.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills for effective communication in a classified setting.
- Advanced computer skills for policy management, scheduling, and reporting.
- An initiative-taking approach to cultural and operational shifts, with a focus on driving positive change within the team and broader site operations.
