About the role

* Multiple Roles including Control Room Supervisors, Control Room Operators, Patrol Officers, and Airport Security Officers.

Wilson Security is seeking dedicated Security Officers to join our team at UWA in Nedlands and the Airport. As a Wilson Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the campus and Perth Airport.

You will be part of our dynamic team working in both the Control Room and on Campus, involved in real-time incident response, investigations, and direct communication with emergency services and external stakeholders. Daily duties involve foot patrols, securing buildings, supporting students, staff, and visitors, and work within the control room as required, monitoring security systems, compiling reports, and ensuring compliance with site policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Monitor CCTV systems and alarms to ensure constant surveillance and early detection of any security risks.

· Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, escalating issues as required.

· Collaborate with emergency services to coordinate responses to incidents.

· Regularly test and maintain security systems to ensure they are fully operational.

· Provide clear and concise communication.

· Conduct foot patrols of campuses, mostly outdoors.

· Escort people around the campus.

· Ensure property is locked and unlocked as required.

· Direct and assist people to navigate around the campus.

· Write reports in response to incidents.

Our Ideal candidates will have:

· Proven security industry experience.

· Previous experience in educational environments (highly desired).

· Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Experience in using Milestone CCTV, Gallagher Security Systems would be preferable.

· Proven experience working in a security control room and as a security officer.

· Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster.

· Ability to walk up to 15-20 km a day.

Requirements:

· Full Australian working rights.

· Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher).

· Valid Western Australian Security Licence with Control Room and Monitoring.

· Full WA Drivers licence.

· Valid First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain).
