About the role:


We are seeking NV1-cleared Security Officers to provide specialised security support on Defence construction projects. This role offers the consistency of day shifts, Monday to Friday, giving you stability while working on nationally significant works.You’ll be responsible for site access control, incident response, and in some cases acting as an Observer during construction works. Observer duties may include monitoring both general building activities (finishing and fit-out tasks) and technical trades (such as electrical, cabling, HVAC, or structural works).

You will need:

 

  • Active NV1 clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Australian Citizen
  • Current security officer licence (state/territory relevant)
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Strong communication, teamwork and situational awareness

 

Desirable (not mandatory):

 

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Previous experience as an Observer on construction projects
  • Defence or critical infrastructure security background
  • Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply

  • Be available to work 12-hour shifts, (24/7 availability) 
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Take pride in their presentation and bearing in all interactions.
  • Be adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
  • Able to write a detailed incident report
  • Able to recollect critical information from an incident.
  • Be a lateral thinker and problem solver, resolving issues that may arise.
  • Understand the chain of command and correct escalation process. 
  • Ability to provide detailed and factually accurate reports on security incidents and HSE hazards both electronic or paper reports.
  • Have sound basic IT skills using a range of software
