Wilson Group is seeking a fast, adaptable and highly organised HSE Advisor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works at pace, and excels at building strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across multiple business units to deliver practical and sustainable HSE outcomes.

 

About the Role

 

As the HSE Advisor you will provide HSE advisory support to the operations and business units, providing HSE leadership and trusted business partnership for your nominated regional group across different business units.

 

This role requires a strong ability to engage, influence and collaborate with operational leaders, managers and frontline teams, providing practical and solution-focused HSE support. You will contribute across a broad range of HSE, risk, training and compliance activities, aligned with current Wilson Group policies, procedures and processes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Build and maintain strong, credible and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across operations and business units.
  • Support and improve HSE risk management systems, processes and compliance with legislation and internal frameworks.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, internal and external HSE audits, and support audit preparation and close-out actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, including hazard identification, risk reporting and safe work behaviours.
  • Provide practical, timely and trusted HSE advice to managers and teams, embedding HSE requirements early in planning and business activities.
  • Assist with incident, injury and near-miss reporting, investigations and the development of safety alerts and learnings.
  • Coordinate and deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks and on-the-job coaching.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System.
  • Actively demonstrate company values, integrity and best-practice HSE leadership across the business.

Skills & Experience

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE, Risk Management or Compliance
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and support operational teams
  • Self-starter with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across all levels
  • Logical decision maker with good problem-solving skills
  • Energetic, dynamic personality with positive attitude
  • Working knowledge and understanding of WHS, policy compliance and current legislation and practices within
  • Resilience and adaptability in a complex and changing work environment
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Diploma or HSE tertiary qualification
