We're seeking a dedicated Security Manager to lead a team of Security Officers at one of our key sites. This leadership role is fully accountable for the day-to-day operations, performance, and site standards, serving as the crucial link between the team and State Operations Management.


You'll ensure all administrative and compliance requirements—such as duty records, training matrices, and reporting—are consistently met to a high standard. As the first point of contact in the management chain, you will lead by example, fostering a culture of professionalism, safety, and service excellence.

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Leadership

  • Lead and supervise a team of Security Officers
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular performance feedback
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development
  • Conduct toolbox talks and performance reviews
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive team culture
  • Ensure site operations meet and exceed contractual obligations
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and cost efficiency

 

Operational Excellence

 

  • Monitor access and maintain security of premises
  • Patrol areas to detect and prevent incidents
  • Respond to enquiries and provide site information professionally
  • Oversee security systems and building controls
  • Maintain situational awareness and communication across the site
  • Lead by example and act as first point of contact for site issues

 

Incident Response

 

  • Respond to alarms and disturbances
  • Investigate unauthorised access, antisocial behaviour, and vandalism
  • Escalate critical incidents and liaise with emergency services
  • Complete accurate and timely incident reports

 

Professionalism & Compliance

 

  • Represent Wilson Security with integrity and pride
  • Follow site-specific procedures, company policies, and OH&S standards
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation and regulatory changes
  • Promote best practices and uphold company values at all times

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on service improvement and role modelling
  • Strong customer service skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing and clear instruction delivery
  • Effective problem-solving abilities with sound judgment and logical reasoning
  • Adaptable and capable of managing changing environments and responsibilities
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and intermediate computer skills
  • Professional presentation and conduct

 

 

Qualifications

  • Current Security Licence
