ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

  • Location: Sydney CBD, North Sydney & Paramatta
  • Full Time & Casual Opportunities are available
  • Weekday and weekend shifts are available
  • Shifts: 6 am – 6 pm (12 hours shifts), 6 pm – 6 am (12 hours) rotating. (8 hours Monday – Friday 6 am-2 pm, 8 am-4 pm, 7 am-4 pm, 2 pm–10 pm)
  • Level 5 pay + reliever allowance.

 

Wilson Security is expanding in NSW, securing additional contracts that strengthen our presence in the whole of the state.  This growth has created new roles within our NSW team, focused on enhancing response and support capabilities for our existing teams and clients.

 

These positions are crucial to our success in the region and will be supported by our Operations Team and Duty Managers. They offer the opportunity to work in response roles, handling events such as protests and emergency management, with training across multiple locations and a variety of positions.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Promptly answer all incoming telephone calls and emails, providing timely support and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to clients, contractors, and employees.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for access approvals, work commencements, hazards, risks, workplace incidents, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct routine welfare checks on security personnel.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and security platforms for suspicious activity, incidents, or breaches.
  • Coordinate responses to late starts, absenteeism, and no-show situations.
  • Dispatch security officers in response to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
  • Provide command and control support during emergencies, including escalation of major incidents where required.
  • Brief security officers on site-specific requirements and operational updates.
  • Assist with after-hours rostering activities, including coordinating coverage for dropped or vacant shifts.
  • Support and supervise security officers in the absence of the Site Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, reports, and operational documentation.
  • Identify, report, and recommend corrective actions for non-conformances to ensure service quality standards are maintained.
  • Manage contractor compliance through monitoring and auditing of safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Encourage project teams and stakeholders to comply with client governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactively identify, monitor, and report risks and hazards to the client and Security Manager.
  • Coordinate and support emergency and incident responses in accordance with site procedures.
  • Act as Chief Fire Warden during emergencies and evacuations.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant security and safety protocols.
  • Maintain situational awareness across all monitored sites and operations.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between security teams, clients, contractors, and emergency services.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a safe, secure, and compliant environment for clients and stakeholders.

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • 2 years of experience as a site security controller or supervisor. 
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Willing to support and step up as required into other roles
  • Ability to work well in a team or autonomously
  • Ability to work in a rotational roster (Nights/Days/Weekends)
  • Australian Citizen or hold Unlimited Work Rights
  • Previous experience in Corporate Real Estate Contracts (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and write reports
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Computers and Security related systems (Access Control, CCTV, Microsoft Programmes)
  • Availability to and physical fitness to walk and stand for long periods
  • Valid NSW Security License (including Monitoring Subclass)
  • Crowd Control endorsement will be highly desirable
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
