ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Location: Sydney CBD & Metropolitan Area, NSW.
  • Full Time & Casual Opportunities available
  • Shifts: Monday – Friday
  • 8-hour shifts available
  • SSIA level 5 plus allowance per shift

 

We are seeking experienced and proactive Tactical Security Guards to support retail banking branches across the network. This role is fast-paced and highly customer-focused, requiring guards who are confident, professional, and able to maintain a strong security presence while supporting frontline banking teams.

The Tactical Guard team provides rapid deployment coverage to branches experiencing increased activity, operational challenges, behavioural risks, or security incidents. You will play a key role in ensuring staff safety, protecting assets, and delivering a positive customer experience.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a visible, professional security presence within retail banking branches.
  • Identify, assess, and respond to disruptive or threatening behaviour.
  • Support staff during high-risk situations, cash movements, opening/closing procedures, and busy trading periods.
  • Perform proactive patrols, safety checks, and risk observations.
  • Quickly respond to operational requests from branch managers or security operations teams.
  • Engage positively with customers, maintaining a calm and supportive approach.
  • Assist with emergency responses, evacuations, and incident containment.
  • Complete accurate, detailed incident and shift reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking security protocols and legal requirements.

 

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Current NSW Security Licence (1A minimum).
  • Prior experience in retail, tactical, or high-risk security roles (banking experience an advantage).
  • Strong conflict resolution, de-escalation, and communication skills.
  • High level of situational awareness and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different environments.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent).
  • Driver’s licence preferred for multi-site deployment.
