About the Role
We’re looking for Forestry Officers to join team in Rotorua. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and being part of a team that plays an important role in keeping forestry operations safe and compliant.
You’ll be patrolling forestry sites, monitoring logging truck activity, checking compliance, and helping ensure the safety and security of the forest environment. No two shifts are the same, and full training will be provided.
Duties:
• Conducting patrols throughout forestry areas and logging routes
• Monitoring logging truck speeds and load compliance
• Responding to incidents, trespassing, and safety concerns
• Supporting the safety and security of forestry operations
• Maintaining accurate reports and communication records
• Operating CCTV, radios, and other communication systems
• Delivering professional and respectful customer service
• Working closely with your patrol partner and wider team
What you’ll need:
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to stay calm and make decisions in challenging environments
• Confidence working outdoors and in remote locations
• Good level of physical fitness and awareness
• Ability to problem solve and think on your feet
• Comfortable using PCs, CCTV, and radio systems
• A clean, full NZ Driver’s Licence
• Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions check
• A current COA or the ability to obtain one (we can help you with this)
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
